Pillar 7: Systemization

Now is the time to unify

If you have read this far, then you have likely become acquainted with the previous pillars.

Up until this point, each pillar has functioned on its own, as its own system. Now is the time to unify. Through this, we contract all previous pillars into one final pillar. Through this binding, it becomes apparent that the whole is greater than the sum of its parts.

The 7 Pillars of Health

A Tribe of Creations

Though each of the previous 6 pillars can function autonomously, it is far more efficacious if the pillars are designed in an organized way. Not only would the most fundamental aspects be covered first, but future changes would build on top of the others, and in a manner that makes them seamless. Additionally, since there is a strategic method for change, it suppresses the desire for unsustainable results.

Don’t Be Like a Motorcycle!

Most individuals, when beginning a program for change, start off with high ambitions. The issue, however, is this motivation tapers off, and the "grind" begins. Through this difficult process, individuals are forced to use their willpower reserves, and only those with exceptionally strong motives will make it across the finish line.

Further still, life has a way of derailing our plans and ambitions. In this sense, not only does one need exceptionally high motivation, but also luck. Does it not make sense to invest in a program that doesn't heavily rely on fleeting aspects like luck? Of course, it does.

The above model of success is likened to a motorcycle. These motorized vehicles are fast to start and get up to top speed in a matter of seconds. The issue, however, is these vehicles are also quick to stop. Here is the truth: in life, there will always be obstacles. Design a system that works through obstacles, and success is inevitable.

Be Like a Train

Make no mistake, designing a system that does not depend on willpower and luck is no easy task. Careful design and consideration must go into planning; it must have intelligence of the highest degree. The answer, however, can be found in a simple train analogy.

When a train engine begins to move, it is slow to start. The full force of the engine is engaged with hardly any effort translating to speed. The difference, however, is that this energy is being invested in something different: momentum. The fact is, in due time, the train engine will get up to speed, just like the motorcycle. Once this train engine gets up to speed, the hard work is already completed, and with a momentum as large as a train engine, nothing will stop it.

Design a system with momentum like a train engine, and you will have success wherever you go. The challenge is strategically developing and sustaining a momentum-based system while you get up to top speed.

How Strong is Your Foundation?

Success all comes down to the foundation you stand upon. If you spend no time developing your foundation, it will be weak and faulty. Foundations are difficult to focus on since, while being formed, nothing can be built on top of them. Similarly, when engaging in foundational health work, we must focus on what is most important, and ignore distractions.

How then, do we retain a glimmer of hope while engaging in this life changing work? The answer is through having a step-by-step program; by having a plan from start to finish. That way, the end is always in mind; there is always light at the end of the tunnel.

Making It all Work

The end goal is creating a system that works for you. Ultimately, this is a journey that only you can take, since no one can live your life for you. With that being said, the fundamentals of health work for everyone, and so the goal is to have a fundamental, yet personalized system. There are many programs on the market that claim to promote health. Based on my experience, most of them are poorly thought out, and that is largely because they don't have you or fundamental health in mind.

The Foundational Program takes all the guesswork out of the equation. Specifically, it is a system designed around these components:
